No prior well integrity experience is required. Basic familiarity with oil and gas wells, drilling, completion, or production is helpful but not essential. The course introduces wellbore and well integrity concepts from the fundamentals and progressively builds practical understanding.

Build a practical foundation inwell integrity, from the fundamentals of well barriers to the assessment of degradation, failure mechanisms, and integrity risks. This course is designed to help you understand not only what well integrity means, but how integrity is maintained, how it deteriorates, and how potential failures can be identified before they lead to loss of containment.
You will learn the principles ofwell barriers and barrier philosophy, including barrier verification, cement as a barrier, Sustained Casing Pressure (SCP), and Well Integrity Management Systems (WIMS). You will then examine how integrity deteriorates throughcorrosion, cement degradation, mechanical failures, pressure and temperature cycling, and ageing well challenges.
The course goes beyond theory throughreal-world case studies and practical workshops, where you will investigate barrier failures, identify warning signs, assess evidence, investigate potential leak paths, and consider appropriate regulatory responses.
